Make-A-Wish® Special Events

Ranging from golf tournaments and scavenger hunts to triathlons and road races, signature events are hosted annually by the Make-A-Wish Foundation of the Mid-Atlantic. By engaging the community, these events enable our Foundation to raise support and awareness to help fulfill the wishes of local children and enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.

 

27th Annual Make-A-Wish Triathlon at Sea Colony
Saturday, September 25, 2010 | Sea Colony Resort | Bethany Beach, Del.

The Make-A-Wish Triathlon at Sea Colony is an exciting 1.5K ocean swim, 41K bike and 10K run for up to 1,000 athletes. Athletes can compete as an individual or a member of a relay team. 11th Annual Race for Wishes

Sunday, April 18, 2010 | Buckley's Tavern | Centreville, Del.

The Race for Wishes features a scenic route through the countryside of Delaware and offers both a 5K and 10K course. Few races can claim such picturesque routes and such a wonderful cause. Community Fundraising Events

The Make-A-Wish Foundation of the Mid-Atlantic benefits from fundraising events and partnerships with local businesses coordinated by members of our community. These fundraisers, independently organized on our behalf, raise awareness of our mission and bring the community together to support children's wishes. Kisses for Wishes Hershey's Kiss Sales*

Young Professionals Ball of DC

The first ever Young Professionals Ball of DC will bring together the district’s philanthropic community for a night of fun and fundraising at the Washington Historical Society. At minimum, 50 percent of all $35 ticket sales and raffle items will be donated to the Foundation. “Kids of the Mid-Atlantic” Photography Book

Heurich Photography is producing a limited-edition coffee table took titled “Kids of the Mid-Atlantic” that features images of local children. Proceeds from book sales and the $35 portrait nomination fee will be donated to the Foundation. Heurich is currently looking for subjects to be photographed and featured. VIP Card Sales in Virginia

The VIP card allows consumers easy access to money-saving discounts at favorite restaurants, hotels, retail stores and attractions. Twenty-five percent of all sales from each $20 card purchased in Fairfax County, Va., will be donated to the Foundation.

Home settlement company Monarch Title has committed to raise $7,500 — enough money to sponsor a child’s wish granted by our chapter via the Adopt-A-Wish program.
