2010 Make-A-Wish TriathlonSea Colony ResortBethany Beach, DE Date coming soon! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~About the Event  The Make-A-Wish Triathlon at Sea Colony is an exciting 1.5K ocean swim, 40K bike and 10K run for up to 1,000 athletes. Hosted in Bethany Beach, Del., the event is in its 27th year. Athletes can compete as an individual or a member of a relay team. This event will also be the Delaware Qualifier for the Best Of The US competition again this year.
The ocean swim, scenic bike and run courses and phenomenal post-race picnic make this race a favorite among both seasoned triathletes and weekend warriors. All proceeds and pledges from the event benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation of the Mid-Atlantic Inc. The Make-A-Wish Foundation grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength, and joy. Serving the states of Delaware, Maryland, northern Virginia and the District of Columbia, the Foundation is proud to have granted the wishes of more than 6000 area children. Registration for the 2010 event will open Monday, December 21st at noon. Fees for individual participants will be $125. The fee for a Relay team is $125 per athlete. If you are not a member of the U SAT, a $10 one-day license fee is required. Participants are not required to raise pledges to participate in the event. However, with the average cost of a wish in the Mid-Atlantic area at $7500, we strongly encourage participants to fundraise as much as they can. Upon registering, each participant will have their own 'Fundraising Dashboard' to make this process easier.
